As soon as we booked our flights, I’ve been planning my Disneyland outfits and I have zero regrets about it. I’m heading to the parks in early September, and since it’s technically still fall-ish (read: still hot but with those gorgeous cooler evenings creeping in), I wanted looks that could actually handle both. No sweating through a full-on flannel-and-jeans situation, but also not freezing when the sun goes down and the fall air rolls in.
My whole vibe for this trip is cool-girl sprinkled with Disney magic. Not loud, not costume-y (except for the Oogie Boogie Bash where I will actually be donned in a head-to-toe Ghost Spider costume), just easy pieces I’d actually wear outside the parks too. I’m going with a generally neutral palette, a little polish, sneakers that can handle 20,000+ steps, and just enough Disney peppered in to keep it fun.

1. Red Bomber, Capri Leggings + DIY Bow Mickey Ears
This is my early morning rope-drop outfit when the air is still a little crisp. A relaxed red bomber utility jacket over a simple white tank, black capri leggings for comfort and Asics for all the walking. I added this super cute Baggu nylon Mickey shoulder bag for a little character detail without going overboard, and finished with tiny hoops and slim black sunglasses.
Also, can we talk about the ears for a second? I am not a big-bow, glittery-Minnie-ears kind of girl, and honestly I never found a pair that felt like “me” until I saw this little hack on Instagram: just take classic, simple Mickey ears and swap in your own ribbon to make custom bows. It takes five minutes, costs basically nothing, and instantly makes the ears feel more like an accessory and less like a costume piece!

2. Heather Tank + Poplin Track Pants
This one’s for the days when it’s warmer and I want to feel a little more breezy. I paired this soft heather gray tank from Aritzia paired with my favorite Pistola Bodie Sport Pants (affordable alternative). These airy, cotton barrel pants move so well and don’t cling in the heat, plus they layer nicely if I throw a jacket on top later in the day.
I went with the same red-bow Mickey ears here to keep a little continuity, plus the Mickey shoulder bag and sunglasses. Simple, neutral, comfortable, exactly what I want for a long day of walking.

3. Brown Polka Dot Bomber + Olive Cargos
This is probably my most “fall” look of the bunch.
This brown polka dot bomber jacket from Zara has such a subtle vintage Minnie-Mouse charm to it. I paired it with a plain white tee and these super comfy Pistola Sabrina utility cargo pants in olive green (affordable alternative) for some easy color contrast that still feels neutral and grounded.
I swapped the ear ribbons to brown to match the jacket (this is where the DIY bow hack really shines, because I can actually coordinate the ears to the outfit instead of the outfit clashing with them!). Sunglasses, hoops, and the Mickey bag round it out.

4. Disney Pullover, Blue Tank + Blue Bows
Next up, this cream Walt Disney Studios graphic quarter-zip is the one piece that leans a little more “obviously Disney,” but it’s subtle enough (and cute enough) that it doesn’t feel like a costume.
The look feature’s a Cinderella-inspired color palette with the light blue tank, same Pistola Bodie Sport Pants from look two, and customized ears with a soft blue ribbons. This is my pick for an evening when the temperature drops and we take in a fireworks show.

5. Brown Dot Bomber, Capri Leggings + Ivory Bows
Next is a slight remix of look three with same brown polka dot bomber jacket from Zara and white tee, but I swapped in black capri leggings instead of the cargos, and ivory bows on the ears instead of brown. It’s proof that a few key pieces (one great jacket, a couple of bottoms, one accessory bag) can basically become a whole capsule wardrobe for the trip. Less packing, more outfit options = my favorite kind of math.

6. Red Bomber, Denim Shorts + Mickey Hat
I’d wear this one on the hottest early fall afternoon in the park! I combined the same relaxed red bomber utility jacket as look one (because it’s genuinely so good and versatile), but this time I ditched the ears altogether and added in a classic tan Mickey dad hat instead. It’s giving off-duty, low-effort, still-on-theme.
Paired with light wash denim shorts and a white tank, this is the most “just running around the park in the heat” outfit of the whole lineup, and I think that’s exactly what it should be!

A Few Notes on Building These Yourself
- Repeat your heavy hitters. I used the same red jacket, the same black capris/pants, and the same Mickey bag across multiple looks. It’s not laziness, it’s strategy. Fewer things to pack but more outfits to wear!
- Let the ears do double duty. A plain pair of Mickey ears and a few spools of ribbon in different colors is genuinely one of the easiest style upgrades you can make for park days. Match the bow to whatever’s dominant in your outfit and it instantly looks intentional.
- Sneakers are non-negotiable. I used the same pair of Asics in every single look because comfort wins at Disneyland, always. Doesn’t mean you can’t still look cute doing it!
- Layer for the fall swing. Mornings and evenings in September can be cool, even if midday is still summer-hot. A jacket you can tie around your waist or throw over a tank is the perfect addition to every look.
