Once L’Officiel put out its list of The Color Trends to Keep Watch for this Fall, I had to check it out. One of the first shades on their list is bold, rich, saturated eggplant. Editors at L’Officiel noted that “With a dark and deep tone, this shade of purple seems to match the future weather quite perfectly,” making it a perfect choice for fall in 2026.
Such a dark tone instantly brings an old-money vibe, but it doesn’t take away from the obvious fall aesthetic. Mateja and Bara’s nail designs on the left and right are perfect examples of a classy eggplant manicure. Ideal for anything from an autumn date night to a family gathering or even an office party. However, I love the subtle pattern along the nails featured in the center. The design feels intentionally seasonal yet understated enough for classy occasions.
This dramatic purple is versatile enough for both polished and playful looks. I also love that it has a subtle witchy aesthetic, perfect for a spooky October design.
2. Sweet & Spicy Cinnamon

PANTONE has its own lineup of trending fall colors, with a spicy brown shade among them. I love the classic earthy, autumn appeal of this shade, and the warm, inviting aesthetic is a must for anyone who wants a neutral, seasonal tone.
Pair this color with dainty white dots (as Brittany did) for a timeless, elegant autumn manicure. Alternatively, opt for a velvet topcoat for a modern design. Or, if you’re looking for something playful, copy Phoebe’s mani and pair this warm cinnamon-brown shade with golden sparkles.

4. Chartreuse Charm

Chartreuse is really having a moment this fall. Brigitte Chartrand, merchandising officer at Net-a-Porter, spoke with experts at Who What Wear, stating that “Across the fall 2026 runways, statement color played a key role, with chartreuse […] appearing consistently throughout fashion month.“
Not only is this hue one of the top fashion trends to try in 2026, but it’s also one of the top nail colors. While this tone is brighter than traditional fall greens, it’s still so fitting for the season. The shimmering metallic finish of a chrome or velvet topcoat is gorgeous and adds a touch of glam to this vivid tone, while a simple glossy manicure, like Melly’s, works for a minimalist vibe.
To me, this hue has a bold, high-fashion look and is perfect for the girl who doesn’t shy away from attention.
5. Fun-Loving Fuschia

Another shade that made it onto PANTONE’s list of the top fall colors is this gorgeous fuchsia. Like the chartreuse above, this color is an unexpected choice for October, but that’s one of the reasons I love it.
This vibrant fuchsia is ideal for the fun-loving girl who can’t help but add an alluring color to her look. It’s a slightly darker shade of fuchsia, making it more suitable for autumn while still vivid. Patrycja has added just a touch of this color along her nail tips (plus a pop of shimmer) to bring this playful hue into her look without going all in. For those who prefer something eye-catching and bold, a solid mani is a great option.
To give this a more obvious fall feel, use this color with shades of red and orange for an autumn foliage-inspired design.
6. Bold Black

Jin Soon Choi, an NYC-based manicurist, told the editors at Allure that as “the return of quiet luxury and ’90s minimalism is inspiring darker, more refined tones that balance edge with elegance,“ black manicures will be topping the nail trend charts this autumn.
Perfect for a moody fall aesthetic, this bold neutral will add a touch of edge to any look while keeping things polished and practical. This is another excellent color for a Halloween-centered nail design. However, it will work just as well for an everyday aesthetic.
To elevate their black nails, @ani.mani.nails and @nailsbypaular added a subtle and then not-so-subtle French tip (respectively), adding depth and character to their designs. To rev up the bold appeal of this color, @mumuart_nail paired this color with trendy nail piercings, creating a gorgeous gothic-style manicure.
7. Crisp Cobalt

This cool, electric blue is so stunning, and it’s perfect for contrasting traditional autumn palettes. Worn with a neutral or muted color scheme, this hue will pop and give your outfit an eye-catching finish. I’m obsessed with the croc-patterned nails by Martyna. It’s perfect for giving your cobalt nails an extra trendy touch, as croc embossing is a fashion must-try this autumn.
For a simpler look, recreate one of the other two manicures and allow this gorgeous blue to do all the work.
8. Captivating Cabernet

The designs by Amber and Ellie (center and right) are effortless and elegant. Meanwhile, the manicure on the left has an extra sultry feel thanks to the long almond nails and velvet finish.
I also think this color would work well on short nails, with collage-style manicures, or a chrome coat. And as this muted, ultra-dark red feels very traditional for fall, it’s ideal for anyone who prefers a classic autumn aesthetic.
