Unfortunately, summer can’t last forever. By the time August rolls around, we all know it’s our last month to soak up all the sunshine we can. And as the last full month of warm-weather days (for most of us at least) before the air cools and we shift into cozy, moody looks, I know I definitely want to take advantage and sport a playful summer aesthetic while I have the chance. So, if you’re like me and want to spend the last month of summer wearing all the bright colors and sundresses you can, I’ve got the perfect summer nail inspiration for you.
Below are the top August nail colors that will dominate in the summer of 2026. I’ve checked in with my favorite beauty experts and editors to curate this list, and the August nail color trends below definitely won’t disappoint. From vibrant pinks to sun-inspired tones and soft, ethereal hues, there’s a nail color ahead that’s perfect for any aesthetic this August!
1. Raspberry Radiance

While soft, barely-there pinks have been the go-to in recent years (soap nails, ballet-slipper nails, milky pinks, and more), “2026 welcomes raspberry nails.“ This shade is unquestionably bolder and brighter than other pink color trends, which I think makes it perfect for those last summer looks before fall officially takes over.
For this, you can keep it sweet and simple and let this gorgeous hue add allure to your look. I love the middle design, featuring a simple, solid design and chrome topcoat. It’s chic and modern and doesn’t need to try hard to be cute. On the other hand, you really can’t go wrong with nail art on your mani, so whether it’s stripes, polka dot, ribbons and bows, or something else, it’s sure to look gorgeous.
2. Sweet Mint

For anyone who missed it, Essie has recently graced us with a list of their best nail polish shades of all time. Some of my favorite colors made it onto the list, and I also spotted a gorgeous hue that screams summer. Their Mint Candy Apple polish is (as they put it) “that perfect minty blue-green that’s playful and gives the nails a fresh pop of color.“
I’m in love with this soft, sweet mint hue. I think it’s perfect for something light and effortless that still feels summery. And while they noted that this mint polish ruled the 2010s, I’ve definitely noticed it having a comeback moment in 2026.
For a modern upgrade, Paulina used a light mint wash on her nails, creating a sheer, tinted design and adding just a hint of opaque mint along her tips. I also love the way Cerise incorporated this color into her Italian summer mani, pairing it with deep blue and orange for a bold yet refined design. But really, this color looks gorgeous in just about any design. So, whether you add a splash of sweet mint or make it the star, this August nail color is sure to stun!
3. Sculpted Petal Pink Glass

While this next August nail color trend technically calls for a lack of color, it’s definitely a look that deserves a spot on this list.
Subtle petal pink 3D nail accents are going to be big in August, and this versatile style can range “from simple globs to translucent jelly ridges.“ I love the look of the sculpted gel in the designs above, creating a 3-Dimensional glass-like effect that elevates each manicure.
One way to add this to your summer nails is with a classic seashell design. Simple vertical or horizontal lines along the nail mimic the look of a ribbed seashell, making it a stylish way to give your colored mani a seasonal finish. The designs on the left and in the center showcase this technique, giving each manicure a bold and whimsical finish. Sculpted floral art is just as stunning and easily lends a summer vibe to any nail design. The look on the right is the perfect example of this.
However, if you prefer something simple and understated, use sculpted gel sparingly to add details along your nails without going overboard. Either way, allow the clear 3D accents to take center stage, using light petal pink tones or a simple nude polish as your base for these looks.

Pool blue nails are another upcoming summer nail trend spotted by the beauty experts at Cosmo. This August nail color focuses on a “dreamy aquamarine” that’s “the color of clear ocean water, pool, and tropical skies.“
I have to say, this hue really does instantly evoke thoughts of cool waters on a hot summer day. I really love how Aimee (on the left) used this gorgeous aquamarine blue for an ocean-inspired look, pairing the hue with rippled water designs, pearls, and golden starfish for something vacay-ready!
Alternatively, the other two designs feature something a little more understated but stylish, nonetheless. The shimmering topcoat on the middle mani also works well for a sparkling-sea aesthetic. Meanwhile, Wonna (to the right) has paired this summery hue with a versatile nail design. Regardless of how you use this color, it’ll be perfect for a vibrant, refreshing summer look!
5. Pink + Butter Yellow Frenchies

Kylie Jenner made headlines with her Coachella 2026 looks, and her two-tone French mani definitely stood out. Glamour noted that her mani consisted of “a muted, nearly nude pink, […] a soft, creamy yellow, and […] dainty crystals,“ creating a subtle yet still glamorous nail design for the festival.
This gorgeous manicure feels light and effortless, and I love the crystals for an elevated touch. Xiu, whose design is shown on the left, created her own version of the Jenner manicure, adding more gems for a bit more glam. But there are plenty of ways to create a similar look. Viktoriia used a soft pink for her base and painted a butter yellow polish along her tips for an everyday manicure with the same vibe. If you prefer a summery nail design, choose a two-tone French mani with solid nail accents and florals, like the design by Andzelika.
6. Soft Purple Siren Nails

Next on my list of August nail colors is a hue that caught everyone’s eye as Chanel showcased their 26/27 collection. Harper’s Bazaar has called these “playful and iridescent Mermaid Nails” the “dreamiest beauty trend of summer 2026“, while the experts at Who What Wear specifically noted the “sun-kissed purples” and “ethereal, shifting shades of blue and lilac.“
This soft purple should have a sparkle, recreating the iridescent shimmer of mermaid scales. Amber chose a simple, chrome topcoat, while nails on the right feature a cat-eye finish. Both of these details add the ethereal twinkle of fish scales, though a velvety finish would work here as well.
For those who prefer a more intricate nail design, look to the middle manicure (done by nail artist Dayanna) for inspiration! She’s coupled this hue with wave detailing and pearl embellishments for a summer nail design that screams mermaid in more ways than one.
7. Mesmerizing Marigold

Allure notes that “this cheery hue rivals the beauty of its namesake flower and a late-summer golden hour.“ I completely agree, and this color is ideal for anyone who wants to liven up their look in the last month of summer. I love the vibrant, energetic feel of this color, and it’s perfect for a simple yet chic summer aura design, like the one by Alison. You can also incorporate this hue into a collage-style summer look. The beachy beauties in the middle feel perfect for an August vacation. Alternatively, the gold, sun-inspired manicure is a must for a boho summer style.
Of course, this color is an obvious choice for a floral design, so don’t pass this color up for a classic, blooming summer manicure.
8. Black Nails w/ Florals

The last nail color to try in August 2026 is a timeless neutral that might feel unexpected for summer. However, this hue comes with a twist! Black nail polish will be on-trend this month, and specifically when paired with floral art.
This is another look inspired by Coachella nails, this time from none other than Hailey Bieber. The experts at Who What Wear describe these nails as having a “pitch black polish base” with “pretty blue and green flower accents.“ I love the way this design blends classic warm-weather nail art with a dark, moody tone. Taliah recreated this design (pictured left), while Kristin’s design (pictured center) is a simple, subtler version of this trend.
And while the original design features soft green and blue florals, you can really use any pastel tones for this look. The chunky, crystal florals on the right mix in a pale pink hue for more variety, while lavender and butter yellow would also work. But I definitely recommend pairing pastels with the black polish to help recreate the playful glow-in-the-dark effect on Bieber’s mani.
