Looking for outfit inspiration for summer 2025? You’ll love my simple list of laid-back looks you can wear all summer long to feel effortlessly put together.
Simple Summer Outfit Ideas To Copy
Summer is the season of effortless fashion. It’s time to retire your trusty leather jacket and cozy sweaters for breezy, light-as-air fabrics that help you cope with the season’s heat. Think minimalist dresses, strappy sandals, and linen everything. Because you’re wearing less, it’s easier to look like you put more effort in than you actually did (if you know the proper styling).
So, if you’ve been on the hunt for fresh outfit inspo or are struggling with what to wear in a heatwave, I’ve got your back. Ahead, I’m sharing some of my go-to outfit formulas for women in search of easy summer dressing.
These summer outfits for 2025 are guaranteed to look chic without all the fuss.
White Button-Up, Denim Shorts + Slides

get the look:
In my opinion, a white button-up is a must-have for every woman’s summer capsule wardrobe. I prefer an oversized linen or cotton shirt that I can throw on over shorts, jeans, or trousers.
Here, I styled dark-wash denim shorts with a simple black tank top, my Anine Bing straw tote, and The Roundabout Slide sandal from Poppy Barley. The button-up is the perfect lightweight layer that makes the whole outfit feel more relaxed.
Tank Top, Poplin Skirt + Heels

get the look:
Poplin skirts have quickly become a staple addition to my summer wardrobe. Poplin— a plain weave cotton fabric with fine horizontal “ribs” that create a smooth, crisp structure—is breathable and lightweight for hot, humid weather. Not to mention, a poplin skirt elevates any outfit.
I recommend both a white and black option, which you can wear all the time with simple tank tops and heeled sandals for an easy and cute look.
All-White + Denim Shirt

get the look:
There is something so fresh and clean about wearing white in the summertime. Plus, I think it makes any outfit look more expensive. For this OOTD, I opted for Agolde off-white jeans with a white tank, black leather flip-flops, and a denim shirt. Break up the monochromatic look with a printed belt (like this snake print one) that adds some interest to the easy-to-mimic outfit formula.
Striped Sweater, White Denim + Flip-Flops

get the look:
Add this next summer outfit to your wardrobe right now! Pairing a cotton striped sweater with off-white denim always has a timeless coastal aesthetic that I adore. It’s the perfect combo for weekend beach trips, lake days, or Sundays at the farmer’s market.
Black leather flip-flops and a straw tote bag (I love this one from J.Crew for the 2025 season!) match the vibe and never go out of style.
Button-Down, White Tank Top + Jeans

get the look:
As you can see, I’ve been wearing this simple combination of off-white denim with a white top all summer. It’s one of the easiest ways to look elegant! Here, I kept my same Agolde off-white jeanse and paired them with a ribbed tank top and striped button-down. Consider wearing dark accessories, like these Reformation leather flip-flops and a black belt, to give your white outfit more contrast.
Mini Skort, Tank Top + Oversized Shirt

get the look:
This black mini skort from the Gap is another piece that can be easily paired with anything in your closet. For the daytime, I wear mine with a white tank top, matching sandals, and my favorite summer bag. I love the pop of color and texture that my Aritzia denim shirt adds to the outfit, but any oversized cotton or linen shirt would be just as cute.
Gingham Skort, Black Tee Shirt + Sandals

get the look:
This next look is so cute that you’ll want to wear it on repeat all summer. Start with this gingham skort (or a skirt), ideally one in a linen blend (I’ve linked more options above!). Keep things cohesive by pulling in colors from the skirt with your top and accessories, like I did here (this is my favorite black tee from Aritzia).
Cocktails with friends, date night, or family brunch…this breezy look fits in with all your summer plans.
From Day to Night

get the look:
To transition this look from day to night, I’d swap out the flip-flops for heeled sandals – these are a sold-out style from Poppy Barley but I’ve linked similar above. This khaki green suede bomber (a great find in the men’s section at Zara!) beautifully complements the skirt’s colors, while also adding texture and warmth. I’ve also linked additional jacket alternatives above!
Ditch the tote bag for a smaller clutch, like my go-to leather clutch from Quince.
Linen Pants + Button-Down

get the look:
On days when I’m running errands or need to be comfortable, I like to throw on a roomy pair of lightweight linen pants – this gingham pair from Quince is perfect. They’re just as easy as sweatpants but look much more elevated.
Adding an oversized shirt helps make everything look cooler and more balanced, but if temperatures are too high, just stick with a lightweight tank.
Silk Shorts, Button-Up + Chunky Sandals

get the look:
Whether you’re beach-bound or looking for an outfit to beat the summer heat, take inspo from the above look. I’m obsessed with these embroidered silk shorts from Toteme (they are a splurge so I’ve linked some more affordable alternative under “get the look”). They’re lightweight, comfortable, and elevate a basic black tank top.
Toss on a linen shirt and sandals, and you’re ready for a vitamin-D-filled day!
Bodysuit, Straight-Leg Jeans + Sandals

get the look:
Bring your jeans into warmer weather with a fitted tank top or bodysuit. This flattering combo is instantly elevated with the addition of a white button-up and strappy sandals (I love this pair from Zara). Not to mention, toe-ring sandals are shaping up to be one of summer 2025’s hottest trends.
Denim Skirt, White Tee + Mary-Jane Flats

get the look:
Next time you’re feeling uninspired, recreate this cute but easy summer outfit. I just threw on a denim mini skirt and tucked in my favorite white tee shirt. Easy peasy! Adding a belt is a simple way to make the outfit feel more cohesive, while these Poppy Barley Mary-jJane flats help elongate the legs and add a preppy touch.
White Jeans, Black Top + Kitten Heels

get the look:
If you want to create a chic look with minimal effort, use a black-and-white color scheme. Try pairing your favorite white jeans or linen trousers with a simple black top, kitten heel thong sandals, and coordinating accessories. For evening, you can look extra luxe by throwing a linen blazer over your shoulders.
Cotton Boxer Shorts + Striped Button-Down

get the look:
When I need something I can throw on and go, this is one of my favorite outfit formulas. I paired white boxer-style shorts with this striped poplin button-down for a casual-cool outfit I can wear anywhere from running errands to the beach.
I accessorized with flip-flops, but if you want to add a trendy touch, try a pair of mesh or trending jelly flats instead.

I am always inspired by my favorite fashion influencers, so here are even more simple summer-ready looks you can copy from top IG it-girls!
Long Black Dress + Matching Accessories

get the look:
Layering in the summer heat isn’t always possible. Instead, rely on hero pieces like a summer-ready dress to create a chic, put-together look you can elevate with shoes and accessories. I’m really into these long linen dresses that can be dressed up or down (and make for the perfect beach vacation staple). Anastasiia is wearing this chic maxi from Dissh.
Stay with the minimalist aesthetic with leather flip-flops, an oversized bag, and a corded pendant necklace.
Linen Trousers, Tie-Front Top + Sandals

get the look:
If you don’t have a tie-front top in your summer wardrobe, this is your sign to get one. This on-trend top adds a flirty touch to any summer outfit, but I especially love it paired with linen trousers. Plus, the open front helps circulate air, which is essential for keeping cool in the heat!
Matching Linen Set + Wrap Up Sandals

get the look:
Matching linen sets are a summertime staple—and for good reason! This easy and versatile ensemble has endless styling possibilities, whether you wear the pieces together or separately. For a truly blank canvas, wear an all-white set and mix in chic accessories like tie-up sandals and a slouchy tote.
Tailored Shorts, White Tee + Kitten Heels

get the look:
Longer shorts are a more modest alternative to mini shorts; plus, they’re a fashion girl favorite! Bring your bermudas into summer with a tailored linen style that’s cool and sophisticated. Add a white tee, kitten heels, and your favorite handbag to make the outfit more luxe.
Take note of how Lovisa wore white with varying shades of cream and off-white to add depth to a monochromatic look. So chic.
Boxy Linen Shirt, Jeans + Jelly Sandals

get the look:
From beach vacations to everyday life, a boxy linen shirt is bound to be one of your most-worn pieces. I love it here paired with loose jeans, silver cuffs, and a woven leather bag. Take a page from Anouk’s style book and add a pair of jelly sandals to your summer wardrobe—this red pair adds the perfect pop of color!
White Maxi Skirt, Cropped Tank + Brown Accessories

get the look:
Here’s another stylish all-white outfit to add to your rotation. To recreate the look above, all you need is a cropped white tank top and a flowy maxi skirt. I love that Lydia opted for brown accessories to add warmth and contrast. It really makes the all-white look pop!
Linen Mini Dress + Flip-Flops

get the look:
Nothing is easier or cuter than a linen mini dress. It might not be groundbreaking, but it’s sure to help you beat the summer heat in style. This bold red adds a splash of color to your summer wardrobe, but opt for any color or print you love. Polly is wearing this Aligne Leah Linen Mini Dress.
Keep things laidback with TKEES minimalist flip-flops and an oversized straw tote, or dress it up with a shoulder bag and heeled thong sandals.
I hope you loved this list of no-fuss summer outfits and feel inspired to put your own together all season long!
