Are you working on building a jewelry capsule that’s minimal and effortlessly chic? Take inspiration from this guide on my minimalist jewelry collection, filled with high-quality and affordable pieces!
My Minimalist Jewelry Capsule Collection
When it comes to fashion, I firmly believe that elegant, timeless pieces are the way to go—and that goes for accessories, too! That’s why I’ve curated a jewelry capsule of my favorite chic minimalist pieces that I can come back to time and time again. I’m here to share them and inspire you to create your own minimal jewelry collection.
Below, I’ll break down what I love about each piece in my jewelry capsule. Plus, you can find an affordable option for any of these simple and classic designs, so no matter what your budget is, you can create a jewelry capsule for yourself. If you plan on investing in quality jewelry for your capsule (which I recommend if you want your pieces to last longer), read through to the end because I’ve got tips on how to properly care for your jewelry and keep it from tarnishing!
Earrings
Earrings are one of the simplest ways to instantly elevate an outfit, and I’ve listed my favorite ones below.
Gold (or Silver) Hoops
Hoops are a jewelry staple, in my opinion. These simple but stylish accessories come in a variety of styles (think chunky, slim, statement, etc.), so you can always find a pair that works with your personal style.
I think it’s important to get a pair made of quality metal so that it won’t tarnish. Gold, sterling silver, rose gold, and platinum jewelry are all popular because of their durability – not to mention they all look beautiful! Higher-end jewelry made from these metals can be on the expensive side, but you can also find budget-friendly pieces made from quality materials.
The Mejuri Dome Hoops are my pick for my jewelry capsule. These gold earrings are stunning, and they’re made with 18k gold vermeil over sterling silver, so they’ll last for years! Quince also has a more affordable alternative here that are a great option if you are on a tighter budget.
Silver (or Gold) Huggies
Huggies are another timeless earring design that’s made it into my jewelry capsule. They have a similar aesthetic to hoops, but they’re smaller and have a close fit to the earlobe—they “hug” the ear!
The Mejuri Dome Huggies made the cut for my capsule. As Mejuri puts it – these sterling silver huggies are designed for everyday wear. They add a high-end feel to any look, but they have a simple, understated look that pairs well with any aesthetic.
I also love these affordable Globe Huggie Earrings from Quince. And for something with a little more detail, try the Croissant Huggies from Mejuri.
Pearl Earrings
If you want to add an old-money vibe to your ensemble – pearl earrings are the way to go. I am honestly obsessed with the Mejuri Organic Pearl Hoops in my capsule. I wear them whenever I want to add an extra touch of sophistication to my look.
These earrings feature a small hoop with 18k gold vermeil and a freshwater pearl that adds a unique touch. If the Mejuri option is out of your budget, I have found a more affordable option from Quince. They’re a fantastic dupe with an amazing quality.
And if hoops or dangle earrings aren’t your thing, I suggest these lovely Pearl Oversized Studs for a similar aesthetic (Quince has a version of them too).
Studs
Speaking of studs, you definitely want to include a pair of classy studs in any jewelry capsule. I love the Mejuri Round Topaz Studs for an effortless look on a casual day. Like the other Mejuri earrings on my list, they’re made from 18k gold vermeil and set with a simple, round topaz.
Depending on your budget, you can opt for studs featuring diamonds, cubic zirconia, lab-grown diamonds, white sapphires, or topaz. All of these will have a similar aesthetic but for a price that works for you!
Optional: Statement Earrings
Whether you want something larger, flashier, fun-shaped, or colorful, you can find something that makes a statement but also looks timeless and minimal.
I don’t have statement earrings in my jewelry capsule, but if I did, I’d choose the Mejuri Mega Dome Earrings (I own them and love wearing them on a night out!), the Jenny Bird Florence Earrings, or the Jenny Bird Puffy Heart Huggie Earrings. I find all of these sets to be stunning and classy, but they definitely still add that something extra to any look!
Necklaces
Necklaces are a must-have in any minimalist jewelry collection, so keep scrolling to see my top picks for necklaces to add to your capsule.
Pendant Necklace
A simple gold or silver pendant necklace will level up any outfit. And they’re perfect for adding a personal touch to your look because they come in a variety of designs (coin, floral, boho, gem, etc.), making it easy to match your necklace to your aesthetic.
I included the Mejuri Terra Pendant necklace in my own capsule wardrobe. Unfortunately, it’s currently sold out, but I have a similar one linked here if you love the look!
Chain Necklace
My current favorite chain necklace and the one that’s in my jewelry capsule is the Jenny Bird Andi Slim necklace. I recently borrowed this necklace from a girlfriend to wear on a trip, and I loved it so much that I bought one for my own collection! It’s an incredible quality and works for both everyday looks and special occasions.
Mine is a paperclip link chain, but other chain necklace styles to consider include herringbone snake chain, rope chain, cable chain, Figaro chain, etc. And while I’m a fan of my gold chain necklace, you can opt for silver if you prefer.
Tennis Necklace
A tennis necklace is a gorgeous piece featuring linked sets of stones to create one necklace. This piece has a timeless aesthetic and can dress up any outfit instantly! The tennis necklace in my capsule is the Classic Cubic Zirconia tennis necklace from Nordstrom.
I adore the look of silver for a seamless aesthetic, but you can opt for gold if you prefer a bit of eye-catching contrast. I also love a cushion-cut gem for a modern look, but again – choose what you prefer. Gem options for a tennis necklace include diamond, cubic zirconia, lab-grown diamond, white sapphire, and topaz – depending on your budget.
Pearl Necklace
Like pearl earrings, a pearl necklace is ideal for creating a high-end, luxury look. I opted for the Mejuri Tiny Pearl necklace in my capsule – I love its subtle aesthetic and how it layers well with other necklaces.
I also love that Mejuri uses freshwater pearls in each piece because, if you ask me, organic freshwater pearls are best for any piece of jewelry! And if you don’t love the tiny string of pearls, I recommend choosing a large pearl string necklace or a pearl drop necklace for something simple.
Bracelets
I love adding a bracelet for a chic finishing touch, and the picks below are my jewelry capsule must-haves!
Tennis Bracelet
A tennis bracelet is perfect for a lavish look, and I put the Nordstrom Tennis Bracelet in my jewelry capsule.
Gem options for a tennis bracelet are the same as those for a tennis necklace. Diamond, cubic zirconia, lab-grown diamond, white sapphire, and topaz are all good choices – it just depends on what works for your budget. And like the tennis necklace, I chose a cushion-cut bracelet for a high-end and modern aesthetic.
Cuff Bracelet
A simple cuff bracelet is sleek, stunning, and perfect for a minimal aesthetic. I love the gold vermeil Dome Cuff Bracelet by Mejuri, although they have a sterling silver version, too. And a bangle is a great alternative if you don’t love the look or feel of a cuff bracelet.
Chain Bracelet
Chain bracelets are ideal for dressing up your everyday outfits. I recommend matching the chain necklace and bracelet in your capsule to wear together for an effortlessly chic look. And that’s why the Jenny Bird Andi Slim bracelet is my pick for my minimalist jewelry collection.
I opted for the gold bracelet, though Jenny Bird has a two-tone option with silver and gold. Or you can choose a solid silver chain bracelet if that’s your preference. I adore the paperclip chain link here, but you can choose other chain styles like herringbone, snake, or rope.
Dome Rings
When it comes to rings, I kept it simple in this capsule with two dome rings – one silver and one gold. I love that you can mix and match these with any other piece in the jewelry capsule, and they have such a stunning aesthetic.
And while you may have heard that you shouldn’t mix metals when it comes to jewelry, I think mixing silver and gold is perfectly acceptable for creating a chic look when the pieces are minimal.
Watch
And what jewelry capsule would be complete with a watch?
I included this affordable watch from Fossil in the capsule. In my opinion, the all-gold look makes it easy to pair this watch with anything else in my jewelry collection. But like anything else, you should choose the watch that matches your style – so opt for a gold, silver, or leather strap.
Notes on Jewelry Care
I believe that investing in high-quality pieces is always worth it – but with investment pieces, it’s essential to care for them properly to ensure they last.
Fine jewelry requires regular upkeep. Aim to have your pieces professionally cleaned every 6-12 months. If any jewelry contains diamonds, I suggest having them checked once a year to make sure they aren’t loose – you definitely don’t want to put on a necklace and realize that one of your gems is missing, this happened to me with my engagement ring and it was a costly replacement!
Additionally, the prongs that hold gemstones in place may need to get replaced after some time (if you’re having your pieces cleaned regularly, they should let you know if any prongs need replacing.)
Next, avoid taking your fine jewelry into water. That means the shower, bath, beach, pool, or hot tub. I also recommend removing your jewelry when you wash dishes or clean with chemicals. Place them somewhere safe until you’re done, and wash your hands before putting any rings back on. And lastly, aim to properly store jewelry where it won’t get scratched or tarnished. I recommend a fabric-lined jewelry box or soft fabric pouch.
As with anything, the better you care for your jewelry, the longer it will last!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my guide on my own jewelry capsule. Use this as inspiration to create your own minimalist jewelry collection so you can effortlessly style any outfit for any occasion!
