I’m talking shades like dark cherry, burgundy, and wine red. And if you ask me, a deep red mani like the ones above will make the perfect accessory to a date night or dinner party ensemble this winter. I love the sultry yet elevated appeal of these colors, and this is a trend that you definitely don’t want to sleep on!
Chrome Nails

I don’t know about you, but I’m not surprised to see chrome on this list of winter nail trends. This nail design was all over my socials in 2023, and that’s not going to be slowing down anytime soon – which is totally okay with me!
Elle magazine also named chrome as one of the top nail trends to expect in 2024. In my opinion, classic metallics or neutrals with a chrome finish are simple, gorgeous, and great for winter. However, as Elle puts it, “What’s exciting about a chrome finish is that it can be added as a top coat or topping powder to any nail color.”
So you can absolutely rock this winter nail trend whether you prefer bright shades or classic neutrals. Plus, no matter what color you choose, chrome nails are one of my top recommendations if you want to make a statement!
Micro Glitter Overlays

Micro glitter overlays are another nail trend we’ll see lots of in 2024. According to Byrdie, “Layering a solid nail color with a metallic or glitter shade […] creates the perfect icy, winter mani look.” I love how soft, shimmering glitter resembles falling snow. This is one of my favorite ways to give your manicure a winter aesthetic while keeping it refined.
I also love that you can pair this trend with any nail design. If you prefer a bold look, you can layer a shimmering finish over bright shades and intricate designs. But my favorite way to rock this trend is by adding micro glitter over solid-colored nails, an ombre mani, or French tips for something minimal and chic.
Icy Blues

Icy Blue made Bustle’s list of trendy nail polish colors for winter 2024, and I think they hit the nail on the head with this prediction!
And while a pastel shade isn’t your typical winter color, icy blue stands apart from other soft tones due to its undeniable winter vibe. If you ask me, this blue has a cool and frosty aesthetic that lends any outfit a wintery feel.
Since it is a light color, it’s my top pick for a subtle winter nail design. Plus, it pairs well with neutrals and adds a lovely pop of color without completely stealing the show.
Jelly Nails

WhoWhatWear called Jewel-toned Jelly nails one of the top trends of 2024, and I’m here for it!
In my experience, the slightly translucent look of jelly nails not only adds visual interest to any manicure but also has a frosted look that’s perfect for this time of year! Jelly nails tend to be associated with bright colors. Still, I suggest pairing this design with rich jewel tones or classic neutral colors for an elevated, retro, and totally on-trend winter aesthetic.

Between ballet core and coquette core, bows have definitely been having a moment this past year – and the moment isn’t even close to over yet! I’ve loved seeing bow accents on tops, dresses, pumps, handbags, and even in hairstyles. And, of course, these bow and ribbon details are just as cute when featured in a manicure.
